    To lose 5 pounds of fat in a week, you need to do some serious number crunching. Each pound of human body fat contains approximately 3500 calories (it varies slightly between people). This means, 5 pounds of fat contains 17,500 calories. To lose the 5 pounds of fat, you have to create a deficit of around 2,500 calories per day. This is ridiculous. Let's say your regular calorie intake was 2000 cals per day, and you cut it down to just 500. That's 1500 calories cut. You'd still need to burn another 1000 through exercise and activity to hit that magic 2500 daily deficit figure. A thousand calories is a LOT, especially if you're living on hardly any food. In reality, you can lose 5 pounds a week, but approximately half will be water, and half will be a loss of muscle tissue. Fat loss will be minimal. Losing water is temporary, but muscle loss can take a while to build back. And it's crucial to have as much muscle as you can, as it's the furnace in which fat and carbs are actually burned. Holly's intentions with the book are admirable, and well marketed, but it's a near scientific impossibility to make good on her promise, and that's poor. Take away the messages for sure, eat smaller, cleaner meals, and move a bit more, consistently. The laws of physics will take care of you given enough time.

    Worst diet book ever! I expected a run through of exactly what holly did during this week and I would have followed it to a T! But instead it told me what different gym equipment did! So useless and the meals were just common sense and boring Wouldn't recommend

    It's basically just a recipe book (all of which you could find online) and a list of cardio exercises you can do on gym machines and the calories that they burn... Even though the machines record the calories anyway. Rubbish.

    This 'book' is basically the same as most stars write for a magazine feature :/ it does not state that 90% of the exercises require gym equipment therefore not ideal for someone trying to fit this around a busy schedule! All this book basically is, is a few meals and recipes where Holly has counted the calories already for us :/ also the price is steep for 38 pages!

    Loose Five pounds in a week.......I just lost £9.99 in seconds! This is a 7 day plan but there are only 5 different lunch and dinner options. The exercise information explains what gym equipment is and how many calories you burn in the time (most machines do this anyway plus you would have to pay to use the gym) Save your money folks!!!!
