    I'm a big lover of Katy Regnery's writing and paranormal has always been my first love so I was literally squealing with excitement when I heard about this, lol. I'm so happy to say that this book didn't disappoint. Is it possible to spend your whole life stuck up on one kiss as a teenager? Comparing everything after that and, frankly, finding it wanting? The answer is yes in this books case. Darcy shared that kiss with the yummy Jack in high school but has never seen him since. Now 20 years later, he is back. I loved every minute of this. I really enjoyed the paranormal aspect, which was fresh and innovative in a world that's pretty much saturated with constantly regurgitated ideas and similar themes. I liked that a lot and it was done very well. As with all of Katy Regnery's books the characters were excellent, three-dimensional and I could relate to them. They have their strengths but also weaknesses that makes them more believable. I liked Darcy a lot and Jack was swoonily fantastic. The secondary characters were also excellent and added their own element to the book. The story was emotional with lots of romance and a palpable attraction between the main characters. There's also some added conflict as well which added an extra nuance to the plot. This book is part one of a duet and, as such, is not complete yet. Having said that though, I wasn't ready to hurl my kindle at the end of the book. It's just nicely set up for the next book to start which, thankfully, isn't too long a wait. I'm not the most patient of people at the best of times I've got to admit, so a short wait is good, lol. As I said, I really enjoyed this. I was sucked straight in and can't wait to read the conclusion. I'd definitely recommend. Even if you're not a fan of paranormal stuff I still think you'd enjoy this. Looking forward to the next book.
